Saints women travelled to Newcastle looking to make amends for the narrow loss to MMU and to kickstart their BUCS Campaign. In the end that’s exactly what they achieved with a comfortable 11-5 win. The first period was a tense affair with neither team making a big impact offensively and the period ended 1-1 with defences very much on top. Saints managed to impose themselves in the second period and a goal from distance from Bekah Kaufman right on the buzzer gave Saints a 4-1 halftime lead. Saints continued to dominate in the 3rd period, Amelia Peters netted three times, Kate Mackie and Caitlin Donnelly also found the back of the net as Saints extended their lead to 9-2. The game was effectively over as a contest and Saints claimed the points with the final a scoreline of 11-5.

A strong performance all round with both goalkeepers, Katie Campbell and Makaere Todd showing up well in nets. Saints now face league leaders Durham on Wednesday in what promises to be a tough match.
