Saints Defeat Durham in Premier League

The Saints travelled to Newcastle this week for a tough looking away fixture against Durham University.
The game was slightly delayed but eventually got underway with Sarah Kreiser winning the swim off and the first possession, however it was Durham who opened the scoring with a nice goal from their centre forward. Kreiser tied it up before Ruby Versfeld gave the Saints a narrow 2-1 advantage at the end of the first period. Versfeld and Lauren Charter added goals in the second to extend the Saints lead to 4-2 at the half, thanks to a fine penalty save from Bailey Meyer. The Saints built on that lead winning the 3rd quarter 3-1 as Meg Hedrick added her name to the scoresheet.
The Saints comfortably saw the game out in the final period as a well contested match finished up 9-6 to St Andrews. Next up, the Saints face Edinburgh at New Olympia in Dundee as they try to build on an impressive start to the season.
